IMCI 2018, the 1st International Workshop on Intelligent Immersive Media Communications, will be co-located with ICTC 2018, which will be held during Oct 17-19, 2018 in Jeju island, Republic of Korea. The workshop focuses on emerging research topics, challenging ideas and proposals, and future research directions in immersive media communications with artificial intelligence.


The Workshop seeks papers in all areas of intelligent immersive media communications. Authors are especially encouraged to submit papers with demo-able implementation, real-world experimental results, and real data sets. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following.

  • Virtual reality (VR) and Augmented reality (AR)
  • Artificial intelligence with immersive media
  • 360-degree video coding and streaming (MPEG-I, HEVC, VVC, etc)
  • Holographic processing
  • Multimedia understanding and recommendation
  • Immersive media-centric health care applications
  • Real-time immersive systems
  • Immersive media conferencing and social VRs
  • Paper Submission Deadline: July 31, 2018 August 15, 2018 (firm deadline)

Submission Instructions

ICTC 2018 workshops invite the submission of original, unpublished research work (including position papers) that is not currently under review elsewhere. Authors may submit either a 6-page full paper for selected journal publication or a 3-page short paper via https://edas.info/N24658. The submissions should be formatted with single spaced, two-column pages using at least 10 pt (or higher) size fonts on A4 or letter pages. The maximum number of pages is 6 for full papers and 3 for short papers. Please make sure that both full papers and short papers must be at minimum 3 pages in length. Detailed formatting and submission instructions will be available on the conference web site (http://www.ictc2018.org).
